A brief history of the Chicago & North Western Iowa Division mainline, now part of the Overland Route:

06/26/21

This large stone arch bridge crosses Rock Creek on the west side of Stanwood.
Built in 1892, the bridge is one of a few large scale double stone arch bridges in Iowa.
In addition, the bridge currently continues to carry a double track mainline.
Overall, the bridge is in good condition. Some preventative maintenance has occurred overtime, including jacketing some stones.

The author has ranked this bridge as being moderately significant, due to the old age and large arches.
The photo above is an overview.
